The work of artist weaver Vicky Ellis spans over 50 years. Originally trained as a furniture designer, she became a weaver, and then worked in gallery education for many years. Vicky’s work is influenced by the Bauhaus Movement and bridges fine art and functional weaving. She uses undiluted colours to make woven responses to paintings she loves and the sea she lives near.
Some years ago, on the point of giving up her shuttles a granddaughter asked her to teach her to weave, at which point she became completely hooked again!
